Seasons Greetings! Are you seriously ready for Your Best Year Yet in 2015?

As the year winds down I would like to share a few final tips for 2014 that I know you are going to love. Scroll down to get powerful: “7 Steps to March into 2015 Motivated, Empowered and Energized!”

First ask yourself….
What did you do well in 2014 that you want to bring forward into 2015?

This is possibly THE most important factor to success. By noticing what you do well and continuing to do it can – and will make a huge difference going forward in any situation! What you did well this year can be the difference that makes the biggest difference in your performance today, tomorrow and throughout the year.

I had a really challenging year. Taking care of my aging father with dementia on a daily basis and then selling his house meant having to put my business on hold for many months. Once my Dad was moved in a personal care home and his house was sold I found it difficult to get my momentum going. I let the pressures of everyday living get to me. I felt exhausted and worn out.

It was only when I recalled an exercise I did late the year before (like it is now) where I anchored in a resourceful state of being resilient under pressure that I remembered…

I am resilient!

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Fully embodying and anchoring a resourceful state of being resilient was the difference that made a huge difference for me this year. I am bringing this factor forward into 2015 with my intention to have my Best Year Yet!

Here is my step by step success method: 7 Steps to March Into 2015 Motivated, Empowered and Energized!

Grab a pen and paper and go through each step. This will take you about 20-15 minutes and could be THE most powerful exercise you do before the end of the year to help you make 2015 Your Best Year Yet!

Step #1 What is your biggest goal or outcome for 2015?

Do not think Resolution! Ever notice how Resolutions often start with words like STOP, QUIT, LOSE, CUT DOWN, REDUCE? Notice how you feel a sense of loss when you think or say these resolutions:

  1. STOP eating junk
  2. QUIT smoking
  3. LOSE weight
  4. CUT DOWN on watching TV
  5. REDUCE spending

Instead – state what you want:

  1. Eat healthy foods: You could say, “I am focused on eating healthy foods every day”
  2. Breath fresh air: You could say, “I am calm and relaxed and notice my breathing patterns”
  3. Trim figure: You could say, “I am energized and move my body ‘x’ minutes every day”
  4. Read more, write, dance, walk: You could say, “I am motivated and do the things I love!”
  5. Save ‘x’ $s every month: You could say, “I am disciplined and save my money”

Notice how you feel different when you think or say focused, calm, relaxed, energized, motivated, disciplined. How you phrase what you want – is often the difference that makes a huge difference! So say what you want!

Step #2 What is missing?

Ask yourself, “What is currently missing that if it wasn’t for that one thing you would be absolute certain you could achieve what you want in 2015?” Write it down and make a plan to find this missing piece as soon as possible. Remember for me it was anchoring a state of being resilient under pressure.

Step #3 How many different ways can you do it?

What different ways can you complete the outcome? List as many ways as you can find possible – this is the Law of Requisite Variety – the system with the most options and choices wins!

Step #4 What is your intention?

What will you get AFTER you achieve the outcome? And who else does this intention satisfy? Using #2 ‘Breath fresh air’ and “I am calm and relaxed and notice my breathing patterns” as an example – notice how the intention for this outcome could be that you are a happier person and people you care about want to share more time with you.

This is an important step as when you have an intention that includes people you love it helps you stay motivated.

Step #5 What are the consequences?

What is on the other side of my intention? What ELSE can I have/get/enjoy when I get this intention? Using #2 again, it may mean that you will feel more fulfilled, more loved and your life will be more meaningful – this is powerful, isn’t it?!!

Step #6 What’s your evidence?

What evidence do you have that you CAN do it? What else have you accomplished in your life in the past that gives you evidence that you are capable of doing? Think of times in your past when you accessed a resourceful state of being calm and relaxed and anchor it on your body (one way of doing this is pressing index and thumbs together for 15-20 seconds while embodying calm and relaxed physiology and breathing).

Step #7 Test for personal congruency

Test – Check your anchor is strong by pressing your fingers together again. Check the consequences of achieving your outcome are congruent with your intentions. Sometimes your outcomes, intentions and consequences are not aligned so make sure you do this step! If not, either adjust your outcome or intention. Then recheck the consequences. If your outcomes and intentions are aligned with the consequences – great! Keep doing what you are doing well.
